  • We had an amazing lunch here. Nicaulas the waiter recommended some gorgeous local dish’s which included cod cakes and a speciality green wine of the area. All were delicious !!!! Also excellent value in an authentic taverna on a beautiful street. The area is touristy but their prices were not. Definitely worth a visit.

  • A cosy and simple local restaurant. It is owned by two friends - a lawyer and an insurance agent by day, who decided to open a small tavern, dedicated to regional cuisine, with a warm atmosphere. They give their heart and soul into the restaurant, and it shows!! We stopped there on our way back to Porto after a long day in the Douro valley, and everyone at the restaurant made us feel right at home. A heartwarming, satisfying and joyful experience we will cherish for a very long time

  • Best restaurant in Portugal! We stumbled upon this place by chance and wow so glad we did. Restaurant culture in Portugal is more “hands-off” than in the US, but not this place. They welcome you like family here. The waiter was so so lovely and helpful. Told us to order less due to portion sizes. Really respect them for looking out for us and not just taking money because they definitely could have. I will recommend this place to all who come to the magical city of Amarante.

  • Such a charming experience. Who thought rice & beans could have you coming back two nights in a row. The service takes this place from 5.0 to 10.0.
